2010: Alabama Small Towns & Downtowns
Oct. 16, 2010, Thorsby will participate in this event with our annual Swedish Fest. Visitors from Sweden and descendents of the town's founders will be present for this "Welcome Home" celebration.
Thorsby Book
A 96 page, color cover book about Thorsby, its history, people, community and opportunities is set to be published by the Birmingham News, summer 2010.
Historical Marker & Scandinavian Flag Court
A beautiful Historical Marker commemorating the town's founders is being provided by the Alabama Dept. of Tourism & Travel for Thorsby. It will be placed in the center of a Scandinavian Flag Court, also commemorating the heritage of the original settlers of the town.

Historical Preservation Committee Meetings
The regularly scheduled committee meetings are held every 4th Monday night at the Thorsby United Methodist Church, 6:30 pm. The meetings are open to anyone who would like to visit.
2010 Thorsby Swedish Fest
Our annual heritage festival will be Oct. 16, 2010 at the Richard H. Wood Memorial Park in Thorsby. This year's festival will be more Swedish than ever with the addition of special guests from Sweden, a Swedish men's choir and Swedish food!
